For the second year in a row, GCA sailors are awarded the Cowes Week Youth Trophy. Congratulations to 18-year-olds Kai Hockley and Jessye Opoku-Ware, the proud recipients of the Cowes Week Youth Trophy, awarded to GCA alumnus, Christopher-Joel Frederick in 2023.

Recognised by Sir Ben Ainslie as a stand out talent, Kai showcased exceptional skills and commitment on the water during Cowes Week. Jessye, the biggest unsung hero of the Greig City Academy Sailing Programme, has been the backbone of the sailing programme’s success, organising and filling gaps as teammates pursued opportunities.

Kai, who sailed in a Flying 15 all week with Jessye, also had the honour of firing the Britannia Cup starting cannon!

Their journey continues to inspire countless people and we are sure there is more to come!
