Half term antics saw 4 of our top youth sailors racing at Lasers Inlands with Corneille finishing 9th/80. Plus six younger sailors racing Lasers at King George sailing Club.
Meanwhile, thirteen girls took to the high seas on a 141 nautical mile voyage from Southampton to Poole. In 5 days (and nights) they experienced taking the helm, chart plotting, cleaning, taking night watch shifts, cooking, weather watching, learning knots, points of sail, man overboard drills and to top it off they were visited by a pod of dolphins! This voyage was wonderfully organised by the team at Ocean Youth Trust South and made possible with support from TK Foundation Spirit Fund.
“It has been an amazing opportunity for the girls to see what sailing is really like and get a chance to develop a wider range of transferable skills like teamwork, responsibility, communication and leadership which are all key elements for their development and will help them grow and achieve loads of things in the future.” Loreto Year 14
