Amazing September: Etchells Worlds & the Nab Tower Race

On 3rd Sept, our girls crew took line honours and won their class in the Island Sailing Club’s Nab Tower Race. They backed that up later in the month with an excellent second place in the Cowes Small Ships Race, hosted by ASTO.

At the same time, our boys competed against Olympians in the Etchells World Championship, and came away with the Youth Prize. Check out their boat-end start in Race 4 here – bow 14, sail number 4 (best in full screen).

And those are just the highlights. Through the month, we’ve had other crews competing in the Quarter Tonners and students out with Ocean Youth Trust

It’s been incredible. Kai Hockey spoke for all the students:

“A great opportunity has been given to us. To get the boat, the advice and the friendly help from all the sailors is just great. We can’t thank everybody enough.”

“Our team is getting more experience and this will help us get on the road to hopefully match the best.”

The best had better watch out!
