RORC – Talking and sailing!

Our teams on ‘Cote’ and ‘Ziggy’ are enjoying serious racing in the IRC National Championships this weekend, organised by RORC.

After Friday’s sailing, we were generously hosted by RORC for a wonderful talk. Jon Holt and the students told a packed room about how Greig City Academy came to be the first state school to complete the Fastnet in 2017 and how they have gone from strength to strength since then.

Sailing legend Mike Golding gave his ringing endorsement and the evening ended with Alex Jacobs, Chair of Scaramouche Sailing Trust, explaining how the charity was set up to raise crucial funds for the Greig City Academy sailing programme, thanking the generous donors to date and appealing for financial support for the future. Saturday morning was back out to the race course!
